Our process
- You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We might need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Selecting the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want to conceal valuables from sight?
Based on your answers to the questions our trained professionals are able to help you to choose the right shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and offers complete privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are often asked about this. To start with, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars produced today have tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.
If you go ahead and get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road unless you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we will not tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the cheapest product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The finest tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio and gives the best UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
