How it works
- You book a time slot and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your car?
Selecting the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Do you want keep valuables out of sight?
Based on your answers to those questions our trained specialists are able to help you to choose the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and gives total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the least expensive tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, does not affect radio signal and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
