What we do
- You book a time slot and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around 7 days so that they can dry fully, this preserves the edge of the tint.
- We can then accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is right for your car?
Selecting the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for style and looks?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want cover up valuables from sight?
Based on your answers to the questions our fully trained professionals can help you to pick the right shade. Below are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and offers complete privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let us describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles produced today have tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy,respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the cheapest tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The best tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, doesn’t affect radio reception and gives the best UV/temperature protection.
