Tinting car windows on your own, is often a real hassle, selecting the best brand, shade, and also just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be problematic! Driving your car to have the tint applied at a local garage can be a hassle as well, needing to take time off work, or having no car for many hours while you wait for it to be finished, is often a big inconvenience.
At Tinted we are completely mobile, and we can cover all of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Pembridge and nearby towns. So we can visit your workplace or home, saving you a lot of time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for every tinting job we do.
We also offer both tinted & sun strips, car light tints, roof and bonnet wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.
How it works
- You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to recieve payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Do you want cover up valuables out of sight?
Based on your responses to these questions our trained specialists are able to help you to choose the correct shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are often asked about this. To start with, let us explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to get your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the least expensive product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The finest tint available, offered as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signals and provides the best temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
