Our process
- You book a time slot and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around a week to allow them to completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want to conceal valuables out of view?
Based on your responses to these questions our qualified professionals are able to help you to pick the right shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat & also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives absolute privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We’re often asked about this. To start with, let us explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the cheapest tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint available, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signal and gives the best UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
