What we do
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We may need to remove door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least a week to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is right for your car?
Choosing the best tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for style and looks?
- Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it to conceal valuables out of sight?
Based on your responses to those questions our qualified specialists can help you to select the correct shade. Below are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and provides total privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let us describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles produced today come with tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we choose not to tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the cheapest tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The finest tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signals and provides the most UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
