Our process
- You book an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this preserves the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is right for you?
Choosing the best tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it cover up valuables out of sight?
From your responses to those questions our trained professionals are able to help you to select the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let us describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of cars the come from the factory today have tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.
If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a good option, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The best tint available, offered as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio reception and gives the most temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
