Our process
- You make a booking for a time slot and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this preserves the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to recieve payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Is it to conceal valuables out of sight?
Based on your answers to the questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to pick the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it protects from heat, UV rays and provides absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to get your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you may nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not first class, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signals and provides the best UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
