What we do
- You book an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows have been tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around a week so that they can completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We can then recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is right for your car?
Choosing the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for style and looks?
- Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Is it cover up valuables from sight?
Based on your answers to these questions our qualified professionals are able to help you to pick the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are asked this question many times. To start with, let’s describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars produced today have tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the least expensive product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a good option, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The finest tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio reception and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
