Our process
- You book an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We may need to remove door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We can then take payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Do you want to conceal valuables out of view?
From your responses to the questions our qualified specialists can help you to pick the right shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and offers complete privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re asked this question many times. To start with, let us explain how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of vehicles produced today have tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you choose to get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can nullify your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint available, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio reception and gives the most temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
