Tinting your car windows by yourself, is often a real pain, selecting the best brand, shade, and even just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be very difficult! Driving your vehicle to be tinted at a local garage can be a hassle too, needing to take some time off work, or having no car for several hours waiting for it to be finished, is often very inconvenient.
At Tinted we are 100% mobile, and can cover the whole of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Brookfield and nearby towns. So we will come to your home or place of work, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for all the tinting work we do.
We are able to provide both tinted and sun strips, headlight tints, bonnet & roof wraps, and interior wraps.
How it works
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We might need to detach the door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this preserves the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint to make you car look great?
- Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Is it cover up valuables out of sight?
Using your answers to these questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to select the correct shade. These are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and offers total privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We are often asked about this. Firstly, let us explain how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to think about is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you can invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the cheapest tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The most superior tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signal and provides the most UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
