Our process
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around a week to allow them to dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We can then take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Choosing the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Do you want cover up valuables from sight?
Using your answers to the questions our fully trained specialists can help you to select the correct shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and provides total privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let us explain how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles produced today have tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we choose not to tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The greatest tint available, provided as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio reception and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
