How it works
- You book a time slot and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your car?
Choosing the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Is it keep valuables from view?
Using your responses to those questions our trained specialists are able to help you to choose the right shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let us describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles produced today have tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio reception and gives the best UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
