What we do

  • You make a booking for a time slot and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this protects the edge of the tint.
  • We are then able to recieve payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

Which window tint shade is right for your vehicle?

Selecting the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Do you want cover up valuables out of view?

Based on your responses to these questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to select the correct shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays and does add some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and provides absolute privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We’re asked this question many times. To start with, let’s explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars produced today come with tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

If you choose to get your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the cheapest product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The most superior tint available, offered as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio signals and gives the most temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
