How it works
- You make a booking for a time slot and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We might need to detach the door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We can then take payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Selecting the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for style and looks?
- Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Is it cover up valuables from sight?
From your responses to these questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to pick the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and gives complete privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you may nullify your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we will not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, doesn’t affect radio signal and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
