What we do
- You make a booking for a time slot and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least a week so that they can completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want keep valuables out of sight?
Using your answers to the questions our trained professionals are able to help you to select the right shade. These are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives total privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles produced today have tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to get your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the least expensive tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The finest tint available, provided as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, does not affect radio signals and provides the best temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
