How it works
- You book an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We can then take payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Choosing the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for style and looks?
- Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want cover up valuables out of view?
Based on your answers to those questions our qualified specialists are able to help you to select the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and offers complete privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let us describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars made today have tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can nullify your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The best tint available, provided as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, doesn’t affect radio and provides the best UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
