Our process
- You make a booking for a time slot and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We could need to remove door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around a week so that they can completely dry, this preserves the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is right for you?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want to conceal valuables out of view?
Using your responses to those questions our trained professionals are able to help you to select the right shade. Below are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and provides total privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we will not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the least expensive tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, will not affect radio reception and provides the best temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
