How it works
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around a week to allow them to dry fully, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is right for your car?
Selecting the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want cover up valuables from sight?
From your answers to those questions our qualified specialists are able to help you to pick the right shade. Below are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re asked this question many times. To start with, let us explain how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the cheapest tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t first class, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, doesn’t affect radio signal and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
