Our process
- You book a time slot and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least a week so that they can completely dry, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to take payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint to make you car look great?
- Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Is it to conceal valuables out of sight?
From your responses to these questions our trained specialists are able to help you to pick the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re often asked about this. To start with, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars the come from the factory today have tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you go ahead and get your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we will not tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the least expensive product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not first class, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The best tint available, provided as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signals and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
