How it works
- You make a booking for a time slot and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to remove door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around a week so that they can completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is right for you?
Choosing the best tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it cover up valuables from view?
Based on your responses to those questions our trained professionals are able to help you to pick the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and offers complete privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re asked this question many times. To start with, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the least expensive tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The best tint available, offered as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio reception and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
