So we will come to your home or place of work, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We can also provide both tinted & sun strips, headlight tints, bonnet & roof wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.
How it works
- You book a time slot and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it to conceal valuables out of sight?
Using your responses to the questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to choose the right shade. These are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and provides total privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We’re often asked about this. To start with, let us describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of cars made today have tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the cheapest tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio reception and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
