Our process
- You make a booking for a time slot and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around a week to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is right for your car?
Choosing the best tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint to make you car look great?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it cover up valuables out of view?
Using your responses to those questions our trained professionals can help you to pick the right shade. These are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are asked this question many times. To start with, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars made today come with tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we will not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The greatest tint available, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, doesn’t affect radio signal and gives the best UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
