Tinting your car windows yourself, can be a disaster waiting to happen, selecting the best brand, shade, and even just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be problematic! Taking your car to be tinted at a local garage can often be a hassle too, needing to take some time off work, or having no vehicle for several hours waiting for it to be completed, is often very inconvenient.

So we can visit your workplace or home, saving you a lot of time or precious holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for every tinting job we do.
We are able to provide both tinted and sun strips, car light tints, roof and bonnet wraps, and interior wraps.
What we do
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is the right choice for your car?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it to conceal valuables from sight?
Using your answers to the questions our fully trained professionals can help you to choose the correct shade. These are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and gives absolute privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. To start with, let us describe how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio reception and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
