How it works
- You book an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We can then recieve payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?
Selecting the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for style and looks?
- Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want keep valuables from sight?
From your answers to those questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to pick the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from UV rays, heat and does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and gives total privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. To start with, let us describe how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of vehicles produced today come with tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.
If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the cheapest tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a good option, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signals and gives the most temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in the UK, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
