How it works
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this preserves the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
Which window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Selecting the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Do you want cover up valuables out of view?
Based on your answers to the questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to pick the correct shade. Below are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and gives complete privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let us describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can nullify your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy,respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The most superior tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio reception and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
