What we do
- You make a booking for a time slot and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We might need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can dry fully, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is right for your car?
Choosing the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint to make you car look great?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it to conceal valuables from sight?
Using your responses to these questions our qualified specialists are able to help you to select the correct shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and offers complete privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to think about is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we will not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the least expensive tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t a good option, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signal and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
