How it works
- You book a time slot and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We may need to remove door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for at least a week to allow them to completely dry, this preserves the edge of the tint.
- We can then accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Choosing the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint to make you car look great?
- Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want keep valuables out of view?
From your responses to those questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to choose the correct shade. Below are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays and does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and provides absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars made today have tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.
If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to think about is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the cheapest product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not first class, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio reception and provides the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
