Our process

  • You make a booking for a time slot and a location convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to power.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows are tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
  • We’re then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

Which window tint shade is right for you?

Choosing the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Do you want cover up valuables out of view?

From your answers to these questions our qualified specialists can help you to choose the right shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are asked this question many times. To start with, let’s explain how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles produced today have tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the cheapest product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The finest tint available, offered as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, does not affect radio signal and provides the best UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
