What we do
- You book a time slot and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for around a week to allow them to dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for style and looks?
- Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want cover up valuables from sight?

Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from UV rays, heat & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and gives total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of vehicles produced today come with tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people it doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you choose to get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the least expensive product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The finest tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signal and provides the best UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
