Tinting your car windows yourself, can be a real pain, choosing the right brand, shade, and also just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be a real pain! Taking your vehicle to be tinted at a local garage can often be a real burden as well, needing to take some time off work, or be without your vehicle for many hours waiting for it to be completed, is often very inconvenient.

At Tinted we are completely mobile, and we can cover all of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Telford and local areas. So we can visit your home or place of work, saving you a lot of time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for all the tinting work we do.

We are able to offer both tinted & vinyl sun strips, light tints, roof and bonnet wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.

How it works

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
  • We could need to remove door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • After the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around a week to allow them to completely dry, this protects the edge of the tint.
  • We can then recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is right for your car?

Choosing the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it to conceal valuables out of view?

From your responses to those questions our qualified specialists can help you to select the right shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from UV rays, heat & does add some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and offers total privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We’re often asked about this. Firstly, let’s explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars made today have tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

If you choose to get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the least expensive product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a good option, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The most superior tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio and gives the most UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
