What we do
- You book a time slot and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is right for your car?
Choosing the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want to conceal valuables out of view?
Based on your responses to those questions our trained specialists can help you to pick the right shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and provides complete privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are often asked about this. To start with, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars made today come with tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the cheapest tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio signal and provides the most UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
