Tinting your car windows by yourself, can be a real hassle, selecting the best brand, shade, and even just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be problematic! Taking your car to have the tint applied at a local garage can often be a hassle as well, needing to take some time off work, or losing your vehicle for many hours while you wait for it to be completed, is often a big inconvenience.
At Tinted we’re completely mobile, and can cover all of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Wrockwardine and local areas. So we will come to your home or place of work, saving you a lot of time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for every tinting job we do.
We can also offer both tinted and sun strips, headlight tints, bonnet & roof wraps, and interior wraps.
How it works
- You book an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least a week so that they can completely dry, this preserves the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Choosing the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want keep valuables out of view?
From your responses to those questions our trained professionals are able to help you to choose the right shade. Below are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and gives absolute privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let us describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles made today have tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.
If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signals and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
