Our process
- You book an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least a week so that they can completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Choosing the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Is it cover up valuables from sight?
Based on your responses to these questions our fully trained professionals can help you to pick the correct shade. Here are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it protects from UV rays, heat and gives absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are regularly asked this question. Firstly, let us explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles produced today come with tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you may nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in the UK, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
