How it works
- You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We could need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is right for your car?
Selecting the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Do you want cover up valuables out of view?
Based on your responses to those questions our trained specialists can help you to select the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from UV rays, heat and does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives complete privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let us explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars made today have tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.
If you go ahead and get your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we will not tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the least expensive tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The best tint available, offered as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signals and gives the best UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
