What we do
- You make a booking for a time slot and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least a week so that they can completely dry, this preserves the edge of the tint.
- We can then take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is right for you?
Choosing the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it to conceal valuables from sight?
From your answers to the questions our qualified specialists can help you to choose the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and offers complete privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of vehicles made today come with tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the cheapest product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The greatest tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio and gives the most temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
