Tinting car windows on your own, can be a real pain, choosing the best shade, brand, and also just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be a real pain! Taking your car to have the tint applied at a local garage can often be a hassle too, needing to take time off work, or having no vehicle for many hours while you wait for it to be finished, is often a big inconvenience.
At Tinted we’re 100% mobile, and we cover the whole of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Lugwardine and local areas. So we can visit your home or place of work, saving you a lot of time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for every tinting job we do.
We can also provide both tinted and vinyl sun strips, light tints, roof and bonnet vinyl wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.
How it works
- You book a time slot and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We might need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows are tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We can then accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your car?
Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it cover up valuables out of sight?
Using your answers to these questions our trained professionals are able to help you to select the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and provides complete privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are often asked about this. Firstly, let us describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the cheapest tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signal and gives the most temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
