How it works
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for at least a week to allow them to completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to take payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?
Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want cover up valuables out of view?
From your responses to those questions our trained specialists are able to help you to pick the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and provides complete privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. To start with, let us explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars made today have tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the least expensive tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, doesn’t affect radio reception and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
